Trend to try: How to make friends with fringing

February 2, 2010

We have a bit of a love/hate relationship with fringes. We love how (on the right person) they can turn a plain Jane whats-ya-name into a catwalk-worthy supermodel in just a single snip, how they make your eyes pop better than any amount of black and/or white eyeliner, and how every time we see Lily Allen we unconsciously reach for the nail scissors stashed in our bags/drawers etc...

However what we hate about them is that they really don’t suit a lot of people (no matter how many times we keep trying them, or what make-up we use), you wake up looking like a cockatoo most mornings, you can’t put your head under at the beach and of course the very second you have finally grown yours out, they darn well come back into fashion again.

All that being said, we have absolutely nothing bad to say about fringing on fabric, in fact we think it’s pretty fetching. In fact we are crushing pretty hard on this fringed, chained and all other good things epaulette, which is like the clip-on fringe we wish  we had – it goes with everything, dresses everything up and it’s (most importantly ) removable!

Buy it now links:

Fringed jacket, US$235, pixiemarket.com

Fringed leather and chain epaulette, US$145, Babette, pixiemarket.com
