It's nearly Easter, so what more excuse do you need to get your bake on with these mouth-watering Holiday-themed goodies.

Preparation Time - 30 - 150 minutes
Cooking Time - 20 minutes
Makes - 12
* Traditional Hot Cross Bun dough (see related recipe)
* 3 tbs cocoa powder
* 120g dark chocolate

1. Omit the mixed spice, nutmeg and mixed peel from the Traditional Hot Cross Bun recipe. Add 2 tablespoons of the cocoa powder to the flour mixture.
2. When forming the dough into buns, place a 10g piece of the dark chocolate into the centre of each ball and shape dough around the chocolate to enclose.
3. To make the cross paste, reduce flour to 2 tablespoons and add the remaining cocoa powder to the mixture.

Before launching in 2007 I worked for a whole bunch of women's glossies both here and in the UK including Shop Til You Drop, New Woman (RIP), (also RIP), Cosmopolitan UK, and I even had a column in FHM (RI... I might be jinxed!). And before all that I was listing shopping as my number one hobby from about the age of five.

    I made some choc cross buns yesterday – they are SOOO simple to make, and so tasty. I don’t know why I was paying $6.00 a packet for preservative loaded choc cross buns for so long?!
