ROMANCE WAS BORN DO WHAT THEY DO BEST: CRAZY FASHION

When it comes to fashion week, half the fun is spying on the crazy, outlandish looks some of the designers concoct to make sure their collection stands out from the fashion pack.

Naturally, Romance was Born duo Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett, who kicked of Australian Fashion Week on Monday, have set the bar pretty high, channelling their usual exuberant (aka kinda nuts) aesthetic into a Marvel Comics theme.  The Romance was Born team added some real "kapoow" to their collection with fiery orange mullets (by ghd),  a graphic winged eye, plastic OTT brows all topped off with mega false lashes from the MAC crew.

Romance was Born might be the King (and Queen) of super crazy styling, but we still take our hats off to all designers who give the nod to freakishly fabulous hair and makeup at this year's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (though maybe leave your hat on to anyone trying to recreate this look in a public setting!).

Ah I love it! It looks like a giant cartoon runway :-)

The hair colour is incredible – now that is a fiery red!

Fantastic!! It reminds me a lot of Alexander McQueen’s later designs, but with Romance Was Born’s signature colour and ridiculously vibrant energy. I”m loving the hair too – a bit David Bowie but still soft and very sexy. Brilliant.
