Beauty saviour: YSL Touche Eclat will help brighten and lighten the best bits of your face

Stop - you're doing it all wrong! You know  all those times you've painted on your YSL Touche Éclat in a line under your eye and then swiped at it until it's all gone (just like a concealer)? Well, hate it to break it to you lady but you need to conceal your eye sockets first then add on your YSL illuminator to lighten the overall eye area. And did you know you can also use this multi award-winning, cult beauty classic to brighten, highlight and beautify other important areas of your mug? Oh you have much to learn my dear. Take a seat, read on... (and make sure you read all the way to the bottom where we share how you can SAMPLE & WIN a TOUCHE ÉCLAT highlighter pen and LE TEINT TOUCHE ÉCLAT illuminating foundation set all for yourself!)

When used correctly, this luminizing pen is eight hours of sleep and an instant pick-me-up in a magic wand. Here's how to get the bright-eyed look:

1. Apply and blend concealer over your under-eye socket.

2. Using your YSL Touche Éclat, draw the outline of an upside-down triangle on your eye bag, making sure the base of the triangle is parallel to your lashline with the pointy bit of the triangle pointing down towards your jaw.

2. Blend seamlessly by patting in with a dabbing motion using your middle finger.

4. Next, move the brush over your eyelids, the arch of your brow and the inner corner of your eye for a dazzling, doe-eyed gaze.

If you're looking like you could go with a few extra z's, fool the crowd by utilising this trick:

1. Apply the pen to the darker areas of your face such as the outline of your eye-bag, sides of your nose, the corner of your mouth and the hollow of your chin.

2. Use fingertip dabbing motions to blend entirely into the skin.

Oh hai, fresh face! Which gal doesn't crave a dose of complexion-boosting goodness to get her through the day? Get your glow on by following these tips:

1. Apply the illuminator to the high planes of your face (where the light hits) such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bone, cupid's bow and the chin.

2. Dab on with one finger and then use a second finger to blend and soften the edges.

2. For a naturally opulent glow, layer a tinted moisturiser over the top. Or better yet, apply YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation for that lit-from-within radiance you desire.

Get an enviable, redefined pout in 2 simple steps:

1. Contour your lips by running Touche Éclat lightly along the edges and blend well.

2. Add a touch to your cupids bow to make them look fuller.

I was lucky to win my first touche eclat from fashiontrend magazine !!!

  • Saziya says:

Lovely Review. Looking forward to try this out. :)

  • heather says:

Sounds like a great product from the reviews, can’t wait to try it

  • Clare says:

    Love my Touche Eclat!

I’d learnt the upside down triangle trick from Zoe Foster’s blog – the problem is some YSL staff don’t even explain how to use it properly. I went to Myer after I’d bought mine for a little lesson and they told me to use it as a concealer – waste of money but also why would you want to draw light to something you are trying to hide?

Dying to try the new foundation

  • Judes says:

I think I need to get myself one!

  • GMeers says:

I need even more tips and tricks I think – though I have been using mine as a concealer so that’s my first mistake!

  • Estella Ferenczy says:

OMG! I’ve used one for about 5 years and have been using it incorrectly this whole time! Would be great if the staff at the YSL counters offered advice on how to use it properly! Argh!

  • anniehbay says:

    want itt so bad

  • Fashionista8P says:

    Amazing tips!! I want it!!

  • shristie says:

So basically you don’t have to waste a whole lot, because you are using another concealer for most of the under eye and then this concealer for illuminate.

    • GMeers says:

Yes exactly, which is good because of the price but then I hate double-handling everything…I’m wondering if there’s a cheaper option?

  • MidnightBlueRose says:

I would definitely recommend this YSL Touche Eclat highlighter pen! It brightens the complexion with little effort!

  • Juanita says:

I haven’t tried the Touche Eclat yet but it is on my wishlist….it looks amazing. I need a fantastic product to use under my eyes, this is my worst area for ageing me. Dark circles and fine lines make me look constantly tire and haggard….not attractive.

  • raegirl88 says:

I have used touche eclat for 3-4 years now, I love it! Can’t live without it!! Definitely helps highlight eyes and reduce dark circles for a completely fresh look

  • Lindaves says:

I bought one overseas last year (got to love duty free prices!) & absolutely love it. Mainly I use it under my eyes, so I really like the tips about concealing first then the triangular application – I think it’ll make a difference & use the product to maximise the benefits. Will also try it as a highlighter on days I need a pick me up.

  • cherg says:

I love mine use it under my eyes and blends in beautifully.
