Wine, berry, grape whatever you want to call it, these delicious sounding red hues have always had a special spot in our autumn wardrobes. Just don’t go calling them that though, ox blood is the vocab of choice for our beloved warm tones for the past two autumn/winter seasons at least. It’s a bit weird that we’re calling it that, why ox? Why not…starfish? Other than for obvious reasons, the term ox blood stems from oxygenated blood--the colour blood turns when it’s exposed to air (okay everyone you can put your textbooks away, recess time! Where’s my apple…)
Bold enough to make a statement, yet less daring than a bright red, ox blood is the perfect neutral to add into your winter wardrobe. It goes with pretty much everything and I’m yet to see a person it doesn’t look good on. Team it with darker colours and gorgeous smoky makeup for a look that’s fool-proof and winter perfect.

Love this colour trend
Those skinnies, get in my life now! x
I’m pretty sure you found those skinnies in the first place didn’t you
Lol, yeah that sounds right Kate. I think I’ve found a few printed skinnies in this colour family and now they’re climbing up my wish list!
I do love this colour, especially coming into the winter months! I already have a few winter pieces in this colour but you can never have enough
I love this colour trend, it’ so….wearable! Colourful but a little muted, and slightly more elegantthan a bright red I think (though don’t get me wrong, I love a bright red too!)
Such an elegant colour! I bought a pair of printed tights in this particular hue last week and I love them to bits.
Great colour for winter – the chunky sweater gets my vote.
