The best blushes for your skin tone
When it comes to makeup, there's definitely something to be said about blush. Not only can using the right colour of rouge enhance your skin tone, but it can bring out your amazing bone structure and pull your entire look together.
But while the right blush imparts a vibrant, glowy complexion, the wrong blush can look unnatural and add years to the face. So how do you figure out which is the right shade for your skin tone? Amidst the sea of berries, apricots and pinks, it can all seem a little intimidating and overwhelming. That was of course until you clicked into this gallery — you clever little thing you!!
First, let's identify if you have a warm or cool undertone. If the veins on the inside of your wrist look blue and you look best in silver jewellery, you most likely have cool undertones. Warm undertones are characterised by green veins on the inside of your wrist (sounds freaky, but trust — it's not!) and you look best in gold jewellery. You may also have a warm undertone if tan and neutral shades flatter your skin tone best.
Now, onto some application prowess. When applying blush, use an angled brush to apply the product to the apple of the cheeks and blend back towards the hair line with a light touch. If you apply too much pigment, correct any errors with a clean beauty blending sponge and roll across the colour to pick up some of the excess product.
Now that you've got your undertone detection and application skills down pat, let's walk you through the perfect blush shade for your skin tone so you can swish and swipe to your heart's content and achieve that covetable natural flush, without the fear of looking like this.
