DDG DIY: How to get rid of blackheads at home

Easy DIY Way To Get Rid Of Blackheads At Home With Vaseline That Actually Works - http://dropdeadgorgeousdaily.com/2014/08/how-to-get-rid-of-blackheadsHow to get rid of blackheads in the comfort of your own crib

Blackheads — the little bastards that never seem to go away, no matter how many pore strips I apply, no matter how obsessively I exfoliate my skin. It seems they’ve found a permanent home (my nose) and are refusing to vacate the premises. Well, sorry guys, but it’s time to get the hell outta here and leave me and my noggin in peace.

I’ve been reading up on tried-and-true ways of minimising blackheads and even preventing them from returning for good, and it seems extractions are the way to go. But if you can’t afford to see a facialist, try this at-home trick below to unclog the pores.

I like 2pac and lipstick and using the word 'lol' when I have nothing else to say. Lol.

  1. Will definately give this a go! Love a home made remedy and sounds better than the strips i currently use…

  2. I’ve never tried this before. It sounds like a fantastic way to get rid of those little suckers. Thanks so much for sharing!

  3. Brilliant! I get a couple of my nose and they’re annoying, persistent little buggers. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  4. I wish I didn’t need this, but I really do – so thanks! I’m going to try it and hope it can transform my skin 🙂

  5. Wow I will have to give this a go. I’m seriously considering paying to get rid of mine on my nose! Dermapen is on my list of procedures to investigate more..

  6. I’ve using Vaseline and dove soap for years, I can honestly say I do the heat and Vaseline thing and I apply cold water, I don’t have any blackheads on my face, I’ve been doing this since I was 16yrs old, and I’m 57 now, I always used the Vaseline as a moisturizer, because if I did get a blackhead I never would pick my face I would just use my finger nail and press the skin and the blackhead would just pop out, but I’m a true believer in the heat and Vaseline, where I do have problems is on my under arns, defiantly gonna try, thank you, will try and get back with results…

  7. Hmmm I’m not sure I’m sold….looks a bit more complicated than wacking on a Biore strip!

    1. Pore strips are really bad for your skin as the adhesive is too harsh for delicate face skin and can cause scarring!

  8. Interesting method, might try it, but biore strips are just easier for me

  9. Hey! Thanks for the tip! I did try this, but maybe i should have left the warm cloth on a little longer, bc it was very difficult to remove the blackheads. I also used the Vaseline, I will try again with a layer of moisteriser instead to see if that might make a difference also. Man these blackheads are the worst!!

  10. Heat and steam are actually pretty bad for your skin. Please stop doing this. Also, I doubt what you’re calling black heads are actually blackheads. They are probably sebaceous filimants, quite literally sebum collected around hair follicles. Almost everyone has them and they are actually impossible to get rid of.

  11. Wow. It isreally easy way to get the blackheads out. Thank you for the tip.

  12. IT WORKED!!!!! I’ve had blackheads for years on my nose and they would never come out from the pores. I tried everything, steam, facials, demitoligists, proavtive, honey, backing soda, charcoal, ect. This is the only thing that had ever worked! Thank you so so much for posting this! My life is changed forever!

  13. I think I’ll try this tonight! Also, people who are saying it’s easier to use pre strips, please don’t use them as they are actually damaging the skin by pulling on them so harshly. Also, if you use them often, they will persistently be making your pores larger and larger and thus easier for dirt to get in.

  14. im definitely going to try this, but I’m a little confused on how you “pull” them out. Do you just pop them like pimples once you’ve moisturized and steamed them?

  15. I have had the blackhead issue all my life and when I was younger I didn’t know any better and I’d squeeze and pick at my skin that caused eruptions like a huge painful under ground pimple that took forever to come to a head and go away and then I was left with scars. About 2 yrs ago I bought Walgreens BlackHead Clearing Scrub and I use it “”gently”” once a week or more and it has done wonders on getting rid of the Black pores.
FYI I read that it is actually Dangerous to squeeze, pop pimples or anything in the zone of your face called the Triangle zone with your nose being in the center of the triangle. Any possible infection has a quick one way road to your Brain from this area. One more FYI I learned the hard way:: Do not go tanning in a salon without eye protection. I burned my eye balls and I have burn lines right across my eye balls and blood shot whites that can be seen when I look. I thought it’d be OK if I kept my eyes closed…wrong. It burned right along the seam of the closed eyes. :))))thanks.

  16. This is exactly what I was going to say. Everyone thinks they have blackheads on their nose (you may have some) but they’re sebaceous glands and they’re not going anywhere. My former aesthetician said you can plump the skin around them by moisturizing well to make them a smidge less noticeable.

  17. Actually, Vaseline is extremely harmful because of the cancer causing ingredients and the same goes for using the Seran wrap! It has cancer causing chemicals in it that when heated (even by the temperature of your body), will be released into your open pores.
You can use activated charcoal to cleanse your face or really, any fruits that have enzymes in them. If you’re going to do this, I suggest using a moisturizer (that doesn’t have any alcohols, parables or any ingredient beginning with “metha”..which all dry out your skin and cause cancers) lotion and compressing a hot wash cloth on it. Or you could skip that step because honestly, putting any kind of moisturizer in your open pores, could have an adverse effect by making you have white heads. I would suggest using a face steamer and then taking two q-tips and use those to squeeze the pesky blackheads out! Don’t forget to make your own face toner to keep your pores clear ☺

  18. I’ve just tried this now and I’m so impressed it genuinely worked on first try. Thank you so so much i’m definitely doing this in future 🙂

  19. I have used a paste of honey and lemon on my nose. I leave on for five min and then rinse. The first time I used it, 90% of my blackheads were gone! I used it once a week for 3 weeks and there is not a blackhead anywhere on my face. I use it once a month or so now just to be sure they do not return.

    1. Using lemon juice on your skin is a common treatment for a whole bunch of conditions ranging from acne to aging and can even be used to reduce dark spots. Since the citric acid in lemon juice acts as an exfoliant (like a mini skin peel) you might get a stinging sensation – so if you can’t handle it then you should wash it off or dilute it. The biggest side effect is dry skin, so make sure you apply a good moisturiser afterwards and don’t go out in the sun without a good SPF on (the lemon juice would make you more prone to sun burn). It may also affect any topical treatments you’ve applied so check with your chemist on that one. Hope that helps!

  20. Does Vaseline not clog pores itself. Wouldn’t that defeat the whole purpose of unclogging pores by putting Vaseline on your face?

  21. you’ve gotta be kidding me! Vaseline is the greasiest moisturizer and NOT auitable as one for the face! That is if you don’t wanna get more spots and blackheads. All a blackhead is is dirt. So if you have loads, make sure you clean your face with the right products+ use a lotion, moisturizer and tonic to close your pores, before you put your makeup on.

  22. Vaseline is great for your skin (especially as a nighttime moisture sealer) but anything hot is not. You should not be using hot water or hot wash cloths anywhere near your face because the heat can damage the acid mantle of your skin and make you more prone to skin infections. Using an alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy acid daily before bed can help clean up your pores much better than this technique can.

  23. Tonic doesn’t “close your pores.” Pores don’t “open and close,” they don’t work that way. All tonic does is restore the pH of your skin after altering it with soap, but if you’re using a good, gentle cleanser, you don’t need a tonic. And vaseline is amazing for your face. I use it over my moisturizer at night to lock moisture into my skin.

  24. So, I tried this 4 days ago.
It worked wonders and was sort of gross, like a biore, the tissue had little blackheads on it.
However, 2 days later my nose is peeling really bad and driving me nuts.
