My day on a plate with Maz Valcorza from Sadhana Kitchen

Any Sydney-based health nuts must surely be aware of the amazing healthy food wonderland that is Sadhana Kitchen. This whole foods and raw foods cafe not only makes delicious foods for their customers to enjoy (like any other cafe, duh) but they also do lunch deliveries, catering, high tea, juice cleanses and workshops while also selling cookbooks on their website. Basically Sadhana Kitchen just wants you to eat better and they don't care which way you want to do it!

Their fearless leader, Maz Valcorza, is always on the go and when she isn't cooking up a storm in the kitchen she's teaching yoga classes and running workshops around the country. We caught up with Maz to find out what she eats on a daily basis to keep her energy levels up (she is a vegan which means she eats an entirely plant-based diet).

Wake up ritual:
Lemon water with cayenne
Breakfast:
1 litre of green smoothie with pre biotic powder and green powder from Amazonia. I usually like oranges, mangoes, passion fruit, coconut yogurt, kale and cucumber in my smoothies.

A pitaya bowl from Sadhana Kitchen which is dragon fruit blended thick with frozen strawberries and banana, topped with fresh fruit, coconut yogurt and raw, gluten free granola.
Morning snack:
1 litre of green cold pressed juice — I love kale, spinach, pineapple, cucumber, lime and mint
Lunch:
A huge salad, usually with spiralized zucchini, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, sprouts, coconut "bacon" which we make in house at the cafe and a simple lemon juice and black salt dressing.
Afternoon snack:
A raw vegan carrot cake cupcake and a protein smoothie made with berries, raw cacao and cacao & coconut protein powder from Amazonia.
Dinner:A massive zucchini pasta with sundried tomato and basil marinara. I fill it with as many veggies as I can like fresh tomato, olives and fresh peas. It's also delicious topped with pine nuts.
