When it comes to having my nails painted I tend to go for more of a grunge look than anything else. This isn't intentional, it's just that I'm physically incapable of painting my nails without ruining it. Sometimes it is because I am wearing jeans and need to pee (and there goes half the paint job) and sometimes it is just down to the fact that I don't seem to have very much hand-eye coordination and chip my nails on every single surface I can find. Since I have paper-thin nails already I'm not game to get shellac'd, so I have to keep on top of my game after a mani to make it last as long as humanly possible.
While I would love to get a proper professional mani every week, my budget sadly doesn't allow for even one a month at this stage so I'm stuck doing my own nails at home. While technique definitely plays a factor in the quality of your mani (thinner layers will work better and use our glue beauty hack for neater edges!) the nail polish you decide to use will make a massive difference to the lifespan of your manicure. These nail polishes are long-lasting, hard to chip and pretty much as good as a salon manicure at home (with way more TV and couch time).
