First impressions: Pastel Plus+ This colour is so everything… from feminine, to party, year round wearable fun in a cute cupcake reminiscent yet punchy pastel pink pigment rich shade. I couldn’t pop this on my fingernails fast enough! It even has a mini lip gloss charm around the bottle’s handle which smells like grapes or Cotton Candy after which the lacquer is named which wears soft on the lips and isn’t to sticky. Part of Orly’s “Sweet Collection” this is really “sweet” looking lacquer that reminds me of cotton candy, carnivals, fairs and all things fun!
Application: The handle has a super soft rubbery comfortable grip (rumour has it that its made from the same material Porsche steering wheels are from!) Its got a great shaped flat brush that gives good control with every brush stroke and allows for even application. The formula is creamy but not to thick or watery, it’s just right and doesn’t have a strong scent. One coat alone looks great, two packs extra punch. Though creamy it gives a nice high gloss finish and dries quite fast.
Wear and tear: This wears really well and took a number of days before I noticed any chips starting. My nails are always being subjected to hands on tasks and when it did begin to wear away it was mainly in small areas across the tips of my nails which I probably could have lessened if I painted the lacquer to wrap and seal the top of my nails for extra protection. After a weeks wear on removing it I loved that my nails appear healthy and not dried out.
Would you buy it?: Yes. I’d buy this as its DBP, toluene, formaldehyde free, against animal testing and performs superbly. Can’t fault this nail lacquer.
Scorecard: 9. Great packaging, high quality lacquer and cute mini lip gloss charm. I hope more stores stock it soon, in the meantime love that they have such a huge colour range available online.
