"The first thing I noticed about this protein hair treatment was of course the alluring apple green packaging - very cool!
Now, as my hair has gone through the hard yards this year (aka bleach, sea water, heat, humidity), I was pretty psyched to dowse my strands in this alleged miracle worker, formulated to provide chemically damaged hair with a good dose of moisture and protein.
The texture of the treatment was incredibly velvety soft, making it easy to work into my ends and roots. I lef this in my mane for a good 5 - 10 minutes before I rinsed it out and finished with Unico's conditioner. I let my hair dry naturally as I wanted to lock in the moisture hit and I often find using a heat tool right afterwards can sap my follicles of this much needed hydration.
I was incredibly was pleased to note that upon drying, my tresses looked a good deal shinier although my ends still seemed a little bit fuzzy and frazzled. I nail this down to the fact that my hair is in dire need of a trim (it's been months!), and not so much the inability of the product to work its magic.
All in all I've been using this quite regularly at least once per week and I can't find fault. It gives my mane the perfect boost of goodness without weighing the hair down or resulting in greasy looking locks. Rad!"
Would you buy it? Maybe, if it was on sale

So I’ve never used a hair treatment or hair mask before.
The instructions say use after shampoo but it doesn’t say how much, it just says different hair lengths use different amounts (which isn’t very helpful given I’ve never used hair treatments before).
So I use two dollops and rub it from the root to the tip (is this right? the instructions didn’t say), left it for 5minutes and rinsed it out.
The result, a bit softer.
Am I suppose to use it for longer? Or on a more frequent basis? If someone lets me know, I will keep trying it.
I love the green packaging and refreshing scent of this product. The fact that it’s Australian made and no animal testing is a plus too.
I have very long hair subjected to years of colouring and bleaching, with very dry, damaged ends. I’ve tried numerous treatments before from the cheap supermarket brands to the expensive salon brands with no improvement, so I was a bit doubtful that this treatment would make much difference. Well I was in for a great surprise.
I applied about 2 dollops after shampooing, and left it on for about the recommended time of (about) 5 mins. My hair seemed to soak the treatment right in, and unlike others that are full of bad silicones, it didn’t have that awful ‘slippery’ fake feel to it. It has the perfect balance of protein and moisture. After rinsing, my hair felt like silk. It usually gets VERY knotty after washing and I usually rely on a huge amount of conditioner and Argan oil just to untangle and comb it, because of this I usually dread washing my hair.
I found I didn’t need any leave-in oil treatment after this. My comb slide right through my hair. Amazing. I left my hair to air-dry naturally, and went to bed. Normally when I wake up I have so many knots in my hair, and tend to end up with one ‘dreadlock’ if I don’t tie it up while I sleep. Not after this treatment, it was silky smooth the next morning and once again I didn’t need any Argan oil to brush it like I usually do. I can actually run my fingers through my hair for the first time in years!
I love this product, love the feel of it, the smell and how lovely and soft it makes my hair feel.
I am currently a brunette (natural blonde) on the way back to blonde. My poor hair has been subjected to years of bleaching/foiled toture and in desperate need of some extra help.
I used this as instructed after washing my hair, left it on for 15 mins while I did the ironing, washed it out and voila! My hair feels so soft and silky and no knots! It also feels a lot stronger too. I’ve been having fortnightly protein treatments at the hairdressers and she was really happy I was using this product at home to boost the protein in my hair. It’s finally starting to get back to health now.
The smell of this treatment is so lovely, I’m now using it in place of my normal conditioner in the shower and it means my long hair combs really easily when wet and dries really well too.
Will definitely continue to buy and use this product once I’ve run out. Thank you DDGD and Unico for letting me try this wonderful product!! I’m talking my hairdresser into getting it in so I can buy it when I visit there.
The first thing I noticed when using this product is the beautiful smell – delicious lemon lime cheesecake! The consistency is good – it’s a bit firmer than the usual treatments I use which is good because it doesn’t run off your hands in the shower when trying to apply it. I found that after applying a scoop of about the size of a large date was enough to coat my hair (layered but the longest layer is mid-back length). I have dark/ash blonde hair naturally but I get foils for light blonde highlights. Added to the fact that I spend a lot of time in the sun and surf, my hair is quite dry and brittle (though I don’t straighten or curl my hair much). After using the treatment my hair felt softer and just generally looked healthier – less dry, more volume, shinier but not oily. It was a lot easier to brush my hair afterwards too. However, I spoke to my friend who is a beauty therapist about the treatment and she advised to only use a protein treatment once a week because although it is great for getting healthy strong results for dry hair, overuse can apparently cause it to become more dry!
All in all, I think this product is a good Aussie summer staple and it will take up permanent residency in my shower!
Looking at the product straight away made me want to try it as soon as possible, it looks fresh and fun and I love the fact that it’s wasn’t just a sample!!
First up, I read the instructions, not having tried a product like this before, it didn’t give me everything I needed to know, but really how hard can it be to smooth some stuff through my hair?
I’ve just come back from 2 weeks in the tropics, a lot of swimming in pools and oceans, and not to mention my hair has been died more times than I can count! So I tried the product a few different wants to see which worked best for me:
Test one: washed hair, put the mask on for 7 minutes, rinsed, towel dried my hair, and put it up in a bun all day (yes I know that isn’t good for my hair)
Result: one I took out my hair, it was super soft and shiny, and smelt great! Winner in my books
Test two: towel dried hair, left out to dry naturally.
Result: frizzy hair (that may have nothing to do with the mask but with the dry heat of a very hot Canberra day!)
Test three: dried and straightened and used product.
Result: left my hair a touch on the flat side but was very soft and shiny
All in all, I really enjoyed it, and will continue to use it! Even the boyfriend used it out of curiosity and like it… Go figure!
Thank you DDGD for giving me the opportunity to try this out, my hair loves you more for it!
